We were at Los Angeles Airport on the way back to Australia a few years ago after speaking at a seminar in the US, and it was pretty late at night. Most of the restaurants were closing up, however the Mexican Restaurant in the self serve area was open so I joined the line and I bought food for my wife Judy and I. I started talking to a gentleman who was behind me who was on his way home too. He had retired six months previously from a major US automobile corporation after thirty years there as an expert on corporate restructuring and change management.

One of the people he had trained at the corporation now had a major consulting business in the US, and as soon as this gentleman retired from the auto corporation he was asked to do consulting work by his previous employee. I asked him, Did you know the corporation CEO well? He said, Yes, I went through major areas of change and growth over many years with him. I learnt a great deal from that man.

Would you like to come and eat with us? I asked, and he said, Sure. When I paid I gave the Mexican lady an Expect a Miracle' card. She said, What is this card, Sir? I said, This is a card for you. There must be a miracle you want today and this will help you receive it. Sir, I know it will. Thank you, sir, thank you, she said.

So she took the card and was showing the other people behind the counter and in the kitchen. It was 11.30pm and the Mexican workers running this food outlet had been working long hours that day and we could see they were very tired. The Expect a Miracle' card brought new life to those folk. Of course others wanted one, so I passed more cards out.

The gentleman said to me, Hey, this is a great card. Would you like one? I said. So I gave him a card.

Two days later I received an email from him; he had also asked me for my business card. In the email from this gentleman he said he was going home to commit suicide as his wife of 35 years had left him a couple of weeks before and his life was now a total disaster. You gave me that card and I saw what it did for those people behind the counter who were doing basic menial tasks and they really got excited about merely the thought of a miracle happening. I said to myself, look at the life you have had. Look at the life you are having now. Expect a Miracle and life will change. This brought about a huge change in my thinking, at how I saw life. I can't believe something as simple as Expect a Miracle' written on a card can do that. All I can do is say thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me my life back.

It's so simple.
