This Week's Winning Story

My Miracle of Persistence
By Adele Gabbey

My miracle began last year.

After having had routine ultrasounds for more than twenty years, something wasn’t right this time. I completed the usual tests in August 2008.

The results of the mammogram showed no evidence of breast cancer. The results from the ultrasound showed fibroadenomas, not breast cancer.

Expect a Miracle - Mammogram

I returned to my doctor saying the lump was sore. He ordered a core biopsy which returned positive for breast cancer. An MRI of the breast was ordered and this confirmed breast cancer.

If it had not been for my persistence, the breast cancer would have gone undetected. I am alive today after surgery and radiotherapy and am currently having chemotherapy.

This is my miracle.
