What is a miracle?

A miracle is a wonder or a marvel. Miracles can be big or small, however they all have the effect of changing a person's perception on life. Many people expect miracles to be huge and be related to God but most miracles are every day events such as seeing a baby smiling for first time or an act of kindness by a stranger. These are the miracles that are most remembered.

What is Expect a Miracle (EAM)?

EAM was started more than 20 years ago by Australian chiropractor, Dr John Hinwood. In private practice and in life Dr Hinwood noticed that people seemed to expect the worst but hoped for the best. A simple act of handing a person a white card with Expect a Miracle written on it has the effect of shifting people's awareness. The thinking goes like this: most of us in our various lives are conditioned to expect the worst but the simple of act of expecting the best (a miracle) can be enough to turn around the lives of people for the better.

How many cards has Dr Hinwood handed out?

Dr Hinwood has handed out more than 70,000 card to patients initially and then to people he has met, to delegates of seminars, to colleagues and to complete strangers. Only two people in the last 21 years have refused a card. To illustrate his belief that people respond to love, care and kindness, Dr Hinwood once stood in the foyer of a major Las Vegas Hotel and beamed love and kindness and handed out Expect a Miracle cards to people who just lined up to speak to him.

Are there health implications for miracle believers?
