People Come Into Our Lives

It is amazing how people come into our lives for a reason. As I sit to write this article I am saddened by the news of the passing of Dr Gordon Young. Gordon was a client, my doctor and more than both of these a true friend. Lynda, his wife, tells me he died peacefully with his family around him. Our hearts go out to his loving family and my thoughts turn to this gentle man who, every day that I knew him, lived these three words 'Expect A Miracle'.

Almost 20 years ago I met a Chiropractor by the name of Dr John Hinwood. I don't recall the exact occasion however it was during a period of my life when I was looking for the 'what's next'! At the time we were both attending a seminar series presented by 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' author Robert Kiyosaki.

I recall to this day Robert saying "surround yourself with people who ask more of you than you do!" At that time I wondered how I could do just that. Then an occasion arose when John and I were working on Logistics at one of Robert's seminars. I got to know him and thought here is someone I could trust.

I had experienced Chiropractic before and then felt that it was not 'working' so had stopped my treatment. John exuded confidence and simply invited me to his clinic during the next week. To this day I, my family, and many around me experience the benefits of Chiropractic.

And that was only the start of my relationship with John. In the mid-90's John and Judy became clients of Brightwater. Some time later we both participated in a networking marketing company.

Then around 1997 John approached me to participate in an 'Olympic Project'. It was during this time that I first saw John use a small tool that opened doors and constantly created opportunities. It was a small white business card with just three words 'Expect a Miracle'

To this day I marvel at the expressions on peoples faces when John hands them his most important calling card. His devotion to the cause has seen him distribute some 50,000 'Expect A Miracle' cards over the past 20 years.

To this end he has built a website in which he invites people to share their 'expect a miracle' stories. The site is www.expectamiracle.com and I invite you to spend some time over Christmas to review some of the stories of others. More importantly, you can review your own miracles of the life you have lived and are living and share it with others by posting it on the website.

Every day we walk straight past one miracle after another not stopping long enough to give thanks for the miracles, both large and small, that form part of the tapestry of our lives.
