The Universal Tool... My Protector

Late one Sunday night, I was heading home from a seminar.  I was very tired, and I was looking forward to my pillow when I got home.

The weekend had been busy, full of learning and activity, fun and energy as we learned about tools to support us in life.  One of those tools was the Universal Tool, using White Light (I’m deliberately using capitals for that one... it deserves it!) to protect and love ourselves.

I had been thinking about that before I got into the car for my trip home, and knowing how tired I was, I made sure I used the Universal Tool before starting my long trip.  I was hoping I wouldn’t need a miracle on the trip home, but it sure pays to think ahead!

There was not a lot of traffic on the road, just a few cars here and there.  I was driving along a street I knew well, taking my time, and approached a round-a-bout.

During the day, this round-a-bout usually has cars lined up at all 5 of the approaches.  Tonight, only a couple of cars were at the entrance on the left as I came closer.  As I had slowed to a safe speed to negotiate the intersection, one of the cars moved forward and made their turn.  By then, I was at the round-a-bout, and, seeing no traffic coming up on my right, kept moving forward.  And so did the car on my left – straight in front of me!

I braked.  Hard.

There was no sense of panic in my mind, no hit of adrenalin, no swearing, just calm and peace.

Both cars stopped.  My front bumper was less than a hand-span from the driver’s side door of the car in front of me.

The other driver, a young woman, panicked.  She was crying and swearing, dishevelled and shocked.  She didn’t know whether to go forward or back. She reversed a couple of meters, changed her mind, tears pouring down her very white face shining in my headlights, changed gears,  stalled the car, restarted it then tore off down the road.

I just watched very calmly.  I knew that I had just experienced a miracle, because I don’t know what else stopped my car in time.

Still surrounded by calm and peace, I said a very heartfelt, ‘Thank You’, sent some White Light to the other driver, and continued my drive home.
