Something Better Will Manifest

I worked as a Personal Assistant to a Director of a large international company in the area of Business Development.  The position of Hospitality Manager became vacant - we entertained many corporate clients.  Whilst a little doubtful of my abilities, I thought I’d apply.  Having done aptitude and personality evaluations and enduring quite a comprehensive interview process, I was short-listed to one of two candidates.

The morning we were to be told who was successful, I sat on the edge of my bed and prayed – and John, you may have heard this affirmation (it may not be exact, but it’s close):

This or something better will manifest itself for me now in the most satisfying
and harmonious way for the greatest good of all concerned.

I wasn’t given the role, but at the end of the following week the Managing Director resigned and I was asked to assume the role of PA to the incoming Managing Director.  I really don’t think I could have achieved a better result.
