Cathedral Angel

On a balmy autumn evening in Auckland New Zealand there was a Catholic mass in the quaint, yet spectacular Cathedral near the Harbour.  We were on holidays, I really wanted to see inside the Cathedral and I took my husband Mick with me.  We entered the side door near the altar to see a Church filled with people of all nationalities.  It was an awesome Cathedral with timber ceilings and floors.    I loved the feeling of the acceptance, comfort and welcoming within that special place.  I was very excited and had a real urge to see the building from the back looking up to the altar.

Although we were on our way to dinner, and this was Mick’s priority he decided to join me for a look.  I went in one door and Mick another.  As I stood at the back of a small crowd of standing people, a woman’s frame caught my eye right in front of me.  I could see she was in a distressed state by her posture.  I gently leaned over and handed her an ‘Expect A Miracle’ card.  She read the special card and as most people do, turned it over to read the back, and saw it was blank!  She looked at me quizzically, and a little stunned as tears welled up in her eyes, I whispered, “you have a miracle”.  I turned to leave and it felt like I floated out the door.

I had a full flowing skirt on and a long poncho that I draped over my shoulder as I turned.  I was on a cloud, my heart was singing, I felt like an angel! The lady ran out of the Cathedral after me and asked “why me?”  I simply said,  “It’s your Miracle” and floated off.
As Mick came out of the other door to join me the lady waved goodbye through a mass of tears and said “thank you” with so much gratitude it certainly came from the bottom of her heart.  Mick asked what had happened and as I relayed the story he proudly  put this arm around me and we quietly wandered off to dinner. I know that special lady received her miracle because I believe she already had it, and only needed to be shown, by a little white card with blue writing saying ‘Expect A Miracle’.
